The day when Siddhartha Gautama saw the morning star at dawn, attained enlightenment under the Bodhi Tree and became the Buddha (means the Awakened One) is on 8th December, Lunar Year.
Over 2500 year, the day of Buddha’s englightenment is an opportunity to acknowledge our dedication to the principles of wisdom, compassion and kindness.
The Siddhartha was born into privilege as a prince who was famous, wealthy of powerful, richy. But he abandoned everything, including his family in favor of the spiritual life. His motivation was to solve the riddle of human suffering, such as why do people suffer and why do peple cause suffering for themselves.
Celebarating the day of Buddha’s englightenment means every Buddhist always remember the Buddha is a good example to us. Everyone should be diligent in study and practice of Buddha Dharma in order to solve suffering completely.
